A New Concept in Personal Chefing Comes to Norfolk

A Texas native, Barrie has lived in many places around the globe-including Hawaii, Mexico and Switzerland. After getting a recording 'deal' with one of her bands, she moved to NYC to pursue both her artistic and culinary careers. After spending 16 very creative years in New York City being the creative director of a off-broadway arts/performace space she pursued a double degree in culinary arts and culinary management from the Institiute for Culinary Education and graduated with honors. Incorpiorating that with her performance background she threw 'performance dinner parties', a variation on the supper club- and drew the attention of much press, including specials on NYC's METRO Channel, and reviews by FOX News among many others.

To be closer to her Mother, Chef Barrie Saccomanno makes Norfolk her new home, bringing with her the unique concept of personal chefing. "A personal chef is someone that comes into your home- to cook a special dinner, breakfast in bed for a new mom, or to prepare a weeks worth of home cooked meals- that can be frozen and eaten at your leisure!" says Chef Barri. While in New York City, she had many personal clients, and as well, worked as a "Rock and Roll ’ catering chef cooking for the likes of the Rolling Stones, Elton John, and Cher, to name a few. Don't be put off- she's VERY down to earth!!! And boy, does she love to cook !!!

As a personal chef, she also teaches new moms how to shop healthy, and throws cooking parties for bridal showers and women’s get togethers,. She also advises on meal planning, and holds private or group cooking classes. She plans and throws special events and holiday meals in your home. She also loves to cook for the elderly living alone who enjoy the ''company' as well as getting a chance to 'help out the chef ' if so inclined and able. It comforts those who worry their elderly relativesare not getting the proper nutrition, or may have troubles with mobility- etc.
